Reading Tony Perkins' latest Washington Update has me thinking again about change. What gives the members of congress the right to add to a bill that is supposed to help with supplemental money to our soldiers. Think about this, there could be two reasons for this. Reason 1 is the hope that the bill passes and they can get their controversial legislation through or could it be that they are just trying to kill a bill using this add-on and make it look like this supplement for the soldiers was denied by the radical right (christian) segment of our government. Looks can be deceiving. I just can't come up with any good reason for someone to add abortion legislation to a bill that will help soldiers. This underhanded way of doing business in the government has to stop! Call it what you want but abortion is legalized murder as far as I am concerned, and I would love to know what God thinks about it. I have a feeling he feels the same. Getting back to the bill, the people who will benefit from this bill will be NASA, health care, millions of dollars for pet projects for the government infrastructure. This should be for the support of our troops and their families not the special interest groups that help pad the pockets of our congress men and representatives.
Next, how can a federal court in Virginia strike down that state's partial birth abortion ban, when the Supreme Court last year upheld the ban on this procedure. I thought the Supreme Court was supreme when it comes to the courts. Oh give me a break, the Fourth Circuit court struck down the law by a 2 to 1 vote, stated that it was still unconstitutional, this time because it might be used against an abortionist who started a legal abortion and then ACCIDENTALLY (what!) performed a partial-birth abortion (OMG). That is like saying gee officer I saw the light was red, but I accidentally hit my accerlerator, hmmm! I don't think that would work, and it should in this case either.
So what do you think.
